The BASHFUL BUTLER is full service Catering for Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino, and most of Southern California

The Bashful Butler will help you coordinate your whole event from table and chair rentals, to decorations, bar service and wait staff. Our menus are expertly prepared in our "A" rated commercial kitchen and delivered piping hot to your event site in our portable ovens. Our uniformed staff will be there every step of the way from the beginning plans to the end of your memorable event.

 

 

Menus

STATIONS

CHEF-CARVED PETIT PANS

Cut-to-order Sirloin Sandwiches, with French Dip options, are served on a petit seeded roll with creamed horseradish, mayonnaise, and mustard.

FRESH SHRIMP
Extra large shrimp are displayed on crushed ice, beautifully garnished and served with a variety of sauces.

POTATO SKIN EXTRAVAGANZA
Melted cheddar cheese fills each potato skin, in a display that includes fillings of ham or turkey strips, salsa, sour cream, bacon bits, sunflower seeds, and guacamole.

SALMON DISPLAY
Norwegian smoked salmon is served on bagels or rye wedges with creamed cheese. Also available is a special salmon mold of cream cheese and salmon, ready to spread.

PASTA BAR
Three types of hot pasta-- spaghettini, spinach and wheat noodles or small shells-- are featured on the pasta bar. The pastas are served with a selection of sauces traditional Marinara, mushroom sauce, butter and garlic sauce, and spicy sweet Italian sausage.

MEXICANA BAR
First, a variety of Mexican chips and dips. Next, "serve yourself tostadas. We begin with refried beans and spicy beef or chicken on a tortilla. You complete your own masrerpiece by adding your choice of toppings-- salsa, guacamole, sour cream, onion, olives, diced tomatos and lettuce. A cold, spicy Gaspacho soup for wann weather,and a hot picante soup for the winter may be added.

SOUP BAR
Guests select from a choice of three hearty soups. The hosts may choose their favorite three from our list of homemade soups.

CAESAR SALAD
Everyone can watch the making of this gourmet delight as it is created by one of our chefs.

OMELETTE BAR
Cheddar cheese omelettes come with a choice of toppings: chopped olives, salsa, red onion, scallions bacon bits, tomatos, red and green peppers, sauteed mushrooms, avocado, and diced ham.

HOT SANDWICH BAR
A variety of hot sandwiches-- pastrami, beef dip, and sausage with peppers and condiments.

PITA BAR
Pita bread is filled with your choice of turkey, crab, beef, or ham. Additional toppings include lettuce, tomatos, alfalfa sprouts, plus sour cream and guacamole.

SEAFOOD DISPLAY
Large seashells surrounded by greens hold a variety of crab legs, shrimp, and scallops on ice, with red cocktail or Dijon mustard sauce.

CHEESECAKE STATION
A choice of six different cheesecakes-- sour cream, blueberry, strawberry, lemog, cherry, and chocolate-- plus an assortment of French pastries-- tempt the guests to try one of everything!

SWEET DISPLAY

A variety of French pastries and petit fours are displayed on silver trays.

FRESH FRUIT, VEGETABLE, AND CHEESE DISPLAY
A variety of cut fresh fruit and vegetables with dips, plus a selection of several imported and domestic cheeses, are complemented by miniature bread rounds and gourmet crackers.
MAIN ENTREE

STUFFED CREPES
French-style thin pancakes are stuffed with chicken, seafood, beef, and vegetable fillings in wine sauce.

OMELETTE BAR
Cheddar cheese omelet's come with condiments, Danish and muffins, fresh fruit, bacon or sausage. (Choose one)

CHICKEN TARRAGON
Chicken breast, Peapods, in a light tarragon sauce topped with Cashew nuts.

CHICKEN DIVAN
Chicken breast, broccoli florets, and a cheese-hollandaise sauce combine to form one of Bashful Butler's most popular entrees.

BEEF BURGUINON
Another perennial favorite, the Beef simmered in a mushroom, Burgundy and herb sauce is a hearty main course.

SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN
Chicken breast, green onions, pineapple chunks, peapods, carrot coins, and water chestnuts, in a sweet and sour sauce.

BROCCOLI BEEF
Strips of beef, broccoli florets, red peppers, and water chestnuts, in a mild Szechwan sauce.

CHICKEN ORIENTAL
Chicken breast strips, julienne carrots, pea pods, green and red peppers, bamboo shoots, blended in an oriental glaze.

COLD BUFFET
Roast beef, ham, turkey, cheese boards, condiments, fresh fruit, a bread display including croissants, and three salads - all are included in the elegant cold buffet.

ITALIAN MENU
Two Entrees are selected from a list of Lasagna, Fettuccini Alfredo, Eggplant Parmesan, and other Italian favorites. Also included are other items from the basic buffet.

MEXICAN MENU
Two Entrees are selected from a list that may include, for example, steak picado, enchiladas, chile rellenos, or a burrito bar. The selections are served with beans, rice, and warm tortillas, and other items from the basic buffet.

ORIENTAL MENU
Two Entrees selected from a list of chicken or beef chow mein, egg foo young, pepper steak or Kung Pao chicken. The selections are served with fried rice or chow mein noodles, and a fortune cookie, other items from the basic buffet.

BONELESS BREAST OF CHICKEN
Choice medallions of white meat served with sauces - for example, a choice of cognac and shallot, teriyaki, marinara, and wine sauces.

LEMON PAPAYA CHICKEN
Boneless breast of chicken is marinated in papaya and lemon juices, and charbroiled.

CHICKEN PARMIGIANA
Lightly breaded chicken breast is stuffed with mozzarella cheese and smothered in marinara sauce.

CHICKEN RANGOON
Boneless breast of chicken is served with ginger sauce.

FRESH FISH
Sole, Orange Roughy, Red Snapper, Shark or other seasonal fresh fish marinated in lemon butter and baked or charbroiled.

BEEF OR CHICKEN BROCHET
Tender pieces of beef or chiTEcken are marinated and charbroiled with fresh vegetables on a skewer.

CHEF-CARVED BARON OF BEEF
Tender, lean prime beef is chef-carved to order, and served au jus with creamed horseradish.

BBQ CHICKEN QUARTER AND RIBS
A combination of chicken and ribs are prepared with BBQ sauce and served with corn on the cob and baked beans.

FRESH FISH
Halibut, swordfish, salmon, other seasonal varieties of the finest fresh fish marinated in lemon butter, and charbroiled or baked and served with wine sauce or Cajun style.

SPENCER RIB EYE STEAK
Fine rib eye of beef is marinated and charbroiled.

NEW YORK STEAK
This choice cut of beef is seasoned and charbroiled.

Our gourmet stuffed boneless breast of chicken is coated with light breading or pastry wrapping, and prepared according to a variety of traditional or innovative recipes.

CHICKEN CORDON BLEU
Stuffed with Swiss cheese and mild cured ham.

CHICKEN KIEV
Stuffed with butter sauce, herbs and spices.

CHICKEN QUATTRO FROMMAGIO (Four cheeses)
Stuffed with a blend of Ricotta, Parmesan, Gorgonzola, and cream cheeses.

CHICKEN MEXICANA
Stuffed with a zesty combination of cheese, Mexican-style sausage, red and green bell peppers, jalapeños, ripe tomatoes, and spices.

CHICKEN DELMONICO
Stuffed with mushrooms and cheddar cheese and topped with sauce.

CHICKEN WELLINGTON
Wrapped with a puff pastry, and lined with pate.

BREAST ENCROUTE DUXELLE
Wrapped in puff pastry and stuffed with mushroom and onion Duxelle.

PRIME RIB
Our choice beef prime rib is served with au ins and creamed horseradish.

BEEF WELLINGTON
Filet Mignon stuffed with liver pate and wrapped in puff pastry.

BACON-WRAPPED FILET MIGNON
Filets are served with bernaise sauce and topped with sautéed mushroom caps.

LOBSTER NEWBERG
Lobster in a creamy wine sauce makes this traditional seafood dish a special treat.

FILET MIGNON AND SHRIMP SCAMPI
Two very special gourmet delights are side by side in this tasty entree

COLD HORS D' OEUVRES
For our standard hors d'oeuvre service, select four items from our list of cold selections, and three items from the hot list. Custom hors d'oeuvre service is priced on an individual basis.

LIVER PATE
A delicately seasoned pate, garnished with parsley and shredded egg, is served on a silver platter with a variety of cocktail crackers and rye wedges.

FINGER SANDWICHES
This choice offers three types of sandwiches cut in a variety of shapes, a special pork spread seasoned to perfection, spiced beef spread and a curried chicken spread.

OPEN FACED CANAPES
These petite bread rounds are made with a variety of decorative tops such as creamed cheese with caviar, liver pate, salami cornucopias, creamed cheese with bay shrimp, and salmon mousse.

PETITE MEAT BUNS
Freshly cut ham, beef and turkey and corned beef fill these egg dough buns with light mustard spread.

FRESH FRUITS
A variety of in-season fruits are freshly cut at the party and artfully displayed.

HOMEMADE CHICKEN OR CRAB FILLED PETITE PUFFS
Bakery fresh cream puff shells are generously stuffed with our homemade chicken or crab salad

VEGETABLE COLLAGE
A variety of garden fresh vegetables are displayed with two types of vegetable dips to enhance the options, specially marinated mushrooms.

CHEESE BOARDS
Three imported and three domestic cheeses are displayed on cutting boards, so that guests may help themselves. Included with the cheeses are rye wedges and several types of cocktail crackers.

CHEESE BALLS
These are cheese nuggets flavored with spinach or herbs, served on cheese boards with a variety of crackers in baskets.

DEVILED EGGS
Our stuffed deviled eggs are seasoned with a hint of curry, and garnished with a variety of parsley, pickles and red peppers.

SWEET AND SOUR PICKLE DISPLAY
A variety of sweet and sour pickles are artfully displayed with mild chile peppers on a bed of curly green lettuce.

SALAMI CORNUCOPIAS
Salami rounds are shaped into cornucopias and filled with mild spiced Rondele cheese.

STUFFED CELERY
Fresh, crisp celery is stuffed with a variety of cheeses.**SEPARATELY PRICED:

These are served on ice with cocktail sauce. This is a separate item from the regular fare, with the seasonal price added to the per person price for seven items.

POTATO SKINS
Always popular, our potato skins are filled with melted cheese and bacon bits, and served with sour cream and guacamole..

SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS
Served with feather picks for easier eating, these bite-size snacks are accompanied by our exceptional sweet and sour sauce.

PETITE QUICHES
Mini quiches are served hot and ready to eat, in a variety of flavors including cheese, mushroom, spinach, and jalapeno.

CHEESE PUFFS
A light traditional French-style puff pastry surrounds cheddar cheese. These are served as individual bite-size morsels.

TERIYAKI ON A SKEWER
Top sirloin strips are woven onto a bamboo skewer and cooked in a mild teriyaki sauce.

RUMAKI
Chicken livers and seasoned turkey breast wrapped in bacon and cooked to perfection. Also date, turkey, or water chestnuts.

CHICKEN DRUMMERS TERIYAKI
Petite drummettes cooked in a mild teriyaki sauce.

SAUTEED MUSHROOMS
Fresh-skewered mushrooms are sautéed in natural butter, cooked in front of the guests in a skillet.

STUFFED MUSHROOMS
Fresh mushrooms are filled with mushroom stem finely chopped and mixed with sweet Italian sausage, onions, cheese, and celery.

HOT PUFFS
Puff pastry surrounds a variety of piping hot fillings.

COCKTAIL FRANKS
Small franks are served in your choice of BBQ sauce, Teriyaki, or sweet and sour sauce.

EGG ROLLS
Hot egg rolls are served with catsup and hot mustard, either on a display table from a hot chafing dish, or passed on a tray.

PIGS IN A BLANKET
Small cocktail franks wrapped in pastry are served with mustard.

BUFFALO WINGS
Chicken wings are served with a hot Texas-Mexican sauce.

GINGER-SESAME CHICKEN ON A SKEWER
These Chinese-style strips of chicken are served on handy skewers.

HOT BRIE FONDUE
This famous mild French cheese is served melted and hot, with squares of sourdough bread.
