Owner, Penny-Scott Fox, CPDT, is one of the nation's most respected dog behavioral specialists. She worked for the Pasadena Humane Society in Pasadena, California for twelve years, and is a Fellow of the Pet Behavior Institute, Durham, England.

Penny is an accomplished speaker, she has lectured around the country for Emily Weiss Consulting on the SAFER behavior assessment for dogs in animal shelters and has developed several behavior modification programs for dogs and cats in the shelter and rescue environment. Aside from her very popular classes for dogs and their families, Penny's experience includes training shelter dogs and evaluating their behaviors.

Her successful techniques have been covered by media outlets around the world, among them the Discovery Channel, CNN, Fox, French television, Japanese radio, the Los Angeles Times, and People magazine of Australia.


 

Classes & Schedules:    

Obedience Classes

Scott-Fox Training

Adolescent/Adult Basic Class - dogs 6 months and up. This is a five-week course focusing on basic training plus some problem solving of learnt and established behaviors such as jumping up and attention seeking. Basic training such as sit, down, stay, loose leash walking and come when called.

Puppy Kindergarten Class - for puppies 2 to 5 months old.  This is a five-week course focusing on Puppy socialization. Typical puppy behavior problems such as housetraining & play biting will be covered plus basic training such as sit, down, loose leash walking and come when called.  Also a field trip to a vet's office is included.

Advanced Obedience Classes 

Intermediate Classes – The intermediate classes will be an extension of the beginner classes continuing with socialization. More complex behaviors will be taught such as food refusal, go to your bed, finessing leash walking, distraction training, recalls and more.

AKC – Canine Good Citizen.  This is an eight week class for any age or size dog.  Dog must have graduated at least the basic class with Penny Scott-Fox or an approved instructor. A certified CGC tester upon completion will test the dogs.  This an extraordinary program and a great opportunity to qualify your dog as a Canine Good Citizen.

 

 

Fun and Games Agility Classes

Classes are held at the Metropolitan Baptist Church on Saturdays.  Advanced classes are held on Mondays.

* This is an 8 week class and costs $225. 

Etiquette Classes - $50/hour  

Call for schedule.  Classes are forming now. 

Each class will be an hour long with a maximum of six dog/handler teams. Choose between a coffee or wine walk.

Hiking class will start in the fall.
