About Us
Society of the Spectacle is the work of two Highland Park sisters driven by a passion for great eyewear. Housed in a 1920's bungalow on York Blvd, the cozy interior is filled with an eclectic blend of unique eyewear, 3D emphemera, and high dog worship.
The shelves are stocked with delicious looking eyewear and sunglass ranges from the likes of l.a.Eyeworks, Salt Optics, Ray-Ban, Person, and hand made, bejeweled eyewear by Frances Klein.
While shopping for your new frames and shades, you might find yourself eyeing beautiful bronze sculptures by artist Anne Ricketts and relaxing in vintage metal garden chairs reborn by artist James Wolfe and gardener Susan Spinks. 3-D pop up books and cards by Barry Rothstein amaze your pupils and no dog is left behind with custom pet portraits by London born artist Catherine Parr.
All blend together to create an enticing emporium for the senses. Sight being the specialty of the house.
