Songi Bridal Salon
From the time he was a young boy in Southeast Asia, Sonthai Songi Gi always wanted to be a fashion designer. Born in Vientiane, Laos, Sonthai was the sixth of eight children to a family of Chinese-Laotian-Vietnamese-Thai ethnic and cultural background. Sonthai and his family left the refugee camp in Thailand for the United States in 1980. During his high school years in Southern California, he studied fine arts and fashion at every opportunity, setting a goal of attending fashion school after completing high school. Achieving this goal, Sonthai then attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), studying fashion design and textile styles. After graduating from FIDM, Sonthai worked for several ready to wear fashion companies and also as a freelance designer.
Early in 2000, he set up his own company using his professional name, Songi, to design bridal gowns. Songi has become known for bridal designs that are simple yet elegant, romantic and classic, as well as glamorous and sexy with high-class style. Songi simply loves designing fashionable wedding gowns, typically using bias cut, luxurious fabrics, and European laces. His most well know "signature" design features include exquisite beadwork and embroidery.
Songi's bridal designs have appeared in publications such as Martha Stewart Weddings/Wedding Dress Magazine, among others, and can be found at specialty retail bridal shops throughout the United States.

Design
The Songi design philosophy is elegant yet simple emphasizing timeless romantic style and sophistication. We offer all types of silhouettes to capture and enhance the bride’s beauty, her personality and the image of her wedding day. As a couture salon we offer custom design service in which the bride and designer work together to decide what her perfect gown will be. All of our gowns are crafted by our talented team in Pasadena, California.
Fabric & Lace
Our fabrics and lace are chosen based on what will work best with the gowns design. The designer consistently searches for fabrics from Italy, France and Japan & China to be most beautiful in the design while maintaining competitive pricing. We offer many wonderful selections of various styles and textures many of which are on display in our salon and we hope you discover you’re favorite..
Color
The right color is important to enhance the bride’s natural appearance. A slight variation in a particular hue can affect the appearance of the bride’s skin tones so we offer silks of various colors and hues.
Custom Embroidery
For Embroidery options, there is no limit. We have the ability to digitize any artwork into a beautiful embroidery pattern and stitch it to perfection. If you choose, we can also monogram the inside of the gown to personalize the gown just for you.
Beadwork
Hand beadwork is also one of our specialties. We use the finest Swarovski crystal’s, imported glass beads an freshwater pearls among a wealth of many other choices.
A perfect Fit
All of the features of the gowns design will be highlighted in the fit of the gown. Our couture philosophy allows our gown to look the best because of the attention to detail in the gowns fabrication. Our gowns are standard with built in corset and bras, quality interlining and stitching to highlight fitting, and to be supportive yet comfortable. Whether you select a gown from our collection or whether you chose a custom design a unique pattern will be made from your measurements. We then provide a complete cotton muslin fitting for you to see how your gown will look and fit on you before the final fabric is cut. By doing this you will rest assure that all elements of the fit are considered in a true couture gown.
Price
The pricing for your order is calculated according to our chosen materials, stitch work, embellishments, how quickly you would like your order completed. Our pricing is based on our standard five month delivery time. Also, to maintain competitive pricing and to save you money we offer a price incentive to the bride who orders her gown earlier rather than later.
